Physical Activity and Well Being
By: Gerrin Cabebe
There is a significant correlation between exercise and one's mental health/well being. In 2020 Herbert Cornelia and Meixner Friedrich created a study on university students. University students experience depressive symptoms and stress while pursuing a academic degree. In a 6 week setting and 2 week laboratory study, mental health and well-being were measured prior to and following the 6 week period of consistent short-term aerobic exercise. In conclusion, participating in low to moderate aerobic exercises for 6 weeks can alleviate depressive symptoms and stress in a college student. (Herbert, 2020).
